'jewel-box': a chest of treasures bestowed, according to a Japanese folk-tale, upon Urashima Taro by the daughter of the King of the World under the Sea. None of us have been able to discover its scientific name. Nevertheless, it is a species of camellia that has long thrived in Japan, and may be indigenous to that country.
